THE Week Of Miracles

Dear family and friends,

It was an amazing week! Tuesday we had a fun DTM at KFC since there's a nice lounge area and our church was being sprayed for cockroaches. It was pretty funny. But then I went with Elder Christensen to Fengjia for the day. We had a lot of fun meeting with their RC of two days. He is so humble and wants to be better. He's really great. Then had a good steak dinner with two other investigators. A grandma and her grandson. He's 13 and probably one of the coolest kids I've ever met. He's really fun. Getting him to church is hard because he goes home to his mom on the weekends and she's always busy on Sundays. But he really wants to get baptized.
Wednesday was a super great day of English proselyting. There were so many prepared people on the street! A man named Miguel came up to me and asked if I was Mormon. After responding, he went on saying he really wants to learn more about our church. He never had time in the past, but now has time and really wants to learn more! Then that night he came to our party! We did a carnival. It was a lot of fun. In the end everyone was learning how to make balloon animals. We ended up sitting with Miguel after the party and he was beyond happy to learn about the Book of Mormon! He's really excited to keep learning with us.

Thursday was a pretty average day. But the wind was getting really cold again. But we were able to sit with Wang dixiong, an LA we're working with, and watch Finding Faith in Christ. He liked it a lot. He's slowly coming along, and we found out his job stops him from coming to church one or two times a month. So that much we can't really help. But he's super sweet.
Friday we switched companions again. Elder Brown came with me. We had a great time at Li mama's house for dinner. It was a really great dinner. And she loves the missionaries so much! Then we sat with Peter, another LA. He loves talking to us. We really want to get his thoughts towards the gospel though. He just loves missionaries. But then after meeting with him, Zhuang dixiong met with us and the first thing he said was "I don't have to work on Sunday anymore! I really thought about the Sabbath and prayed about it and decided to quit my job and find a new one. Now I have a new job that is a little more tough during the week, but doesn't require me working on Sunday!" It was music to my ears! We shared the baptismal questions with him and instantly got him into an interview since Elder Christensen was already at the church. He was almost to the point of tears of excitement.

Saturday we met with another English student named Justin that has a bit of interest too. He didn't have a whole lot of time, but he's pretty interested. Then that night it was as windy as all get up, but we knew we had to go out and contact. So we prayed for warmth and success. We found an amazing family with English interest. Then we pulled a guy over with interest that wanted to go to our church right there and then. So we biked to our church and he followed behind on his scooter. Then a sister from Zhanghua was randomly waiting for her friend here and helped us peike. He loved it a lot and also wants to learn a lot more!
Sunday Zhuang dixiong was announced to be baptized the following week! He's getting baptized this Sunday!! We had a great day of church. We then met with a Chen dixiong that Elders Cuartas and Brown got to sit with while on exchanges. We watched the Restoration movie with him. He loved it a lot and is loving the Book of Mormon and accepted a goal! Miracles all over the place!  We then went to Sherry's house for dinner. She has lived in California for decades now and came back to be with her mom for a bit. And her husband is coming this week and they're preparing to get sealed! She's also like a missionary mom. She loves taking care of the missionaries. We then biked super fast down the HUGE hill in crazy traffic in the dark. So much fun! And we watched 17 Miracles. It was my first time seeing it. Everyone loved it.

Today Elder Cuartas moved to Huwei in the Jiayi zone. Pretty far away. I'm now with Elder Buhler! He's from Spanish Fork. He's really cool. I can tell we're going to have a lot of fun! We have a lot of mutual friends. And he served here 3 transfers ago. Why he came back, we don't know. But we're both way excited!

I love you all! I'm way excited to keep this area going! It'll be a transfer of miracles! Until next week!

Love, Elder Anthony Kai Buckwalter

ps. Mom, did you know Wee Granny is in 17 Miracles? I don't know if you've seen it or not. But I bawled at her part.
