Families

Dear family and friends,

What a great week. It all started with a great FHE on Monday night with the single adults. We shared our new year's resolutions. Then on Tuesday we had ZTM in Daya. It was a ton of fun! Elder Terry and Elder McKenzie did a good job. We thought of a new Zone name. And it came out to be the North Taizhong Nebula. They couldn't think of anything good that rhymed with North. So they just took the first letter and came up with Nebula because stars are born in a nebula. It's just funny. We practiced the first time sit down and then talked about sacrifice. Really good.   We had a great lesson with Lai dixiong and the first counselor peike'd. It was really good and all came down to the fact that we need to study the scriptures and pray for God's help to overcome our trials. We have to do our own part too. It was a good lesson.

Wednesday was a long day of finding. But it was a good day. We had dinner at a member families house. Homemade fried chicken. I haven't had that in forever. We also had a great English class! The family that self contacted us came! And they had a ton of fun! I was so happy. We had a lot of people show up, including a girl from Argentina. That was pretty sweet. We sat with Zhuang dixiong afterwards. He's switching jobs, and his work schedule is harder to work around, so we need to have faith with that... But he's super willing to obey all commandments!

Thursday we had a miracle dinner with a less active. He contacted us while we did English proselyting and said he once met with missionaries. But when we called him, he was already in our phone as a less active! We were so confused. So we met with him and he was baptized somewhere else in Taizhong and then moved here 10 years ago. Really nice guy.
Friday was a sad day with some of our investigators. But then we had dinner with the less active again and then he also helped us peike with our RC as we shared the Plan of Salvation. It also helped him as well! Double miracle in a lesson. It was also really cold, so we didn't like being on the road. I nearly got knocked off my bike riding against the wind.

Saturday was a crazy day. We had ward correlation in the morning. Then we biked as fast as we could up the entire mountain to get to our furthest area to meet a former that set up. But we couldn't find his house and he wasn't answering his phone. Then the miracle family cancelled on us because they were going to the dad's parent's house. Super depressing. But that afternoon we met with Wang dixiong who's an LA that we've been helping. We talked about languages and the language of the Book of Mormon before it was translated. He's super wise and just sounds wise and loves to say "SUPER GOOD!" We taught him that. He's just got work problems.   Then at the other Elder's baptism, we had Zhuang dixiong, Cai dixiong, and a new guy that set up to meet at that time, Lin dixiong, all come! It was all over the place. And I'm pretty sure I once taught the new guy while I lived in Pingdong! He walked in and look extremely familiar. It was driving me crazy. Turns out he has a Book of Mormon already, but he left it in PINGDONG!! I'm pretty sure I was the one that referred him up here because he was moving up here. The other Elders contacted him in our referral system because our systems are combined, and it was from me and now to me! What a miracle! And he's way willing!
Sunday Zhuang dixiong came and loved church! The bishop peike'd after church and it was really great. Then the miracle family showed up after church to see if there was still stuff going on and the Sisters were having a baptism! So they stayed and loved it. The ward ate them up. I'm really excited to keep meeting with them. Then that night for our FHE we watched Legacy. The room was filled with RC's. They loved it. It was a good night.

I loved last week! This week is the final week of the transfer. We'll see what miracles come! We already have some great things coming our way! I love you all! Until next week!

Love, Elder Anthony Kai Buckwalter
